The Yin-Yang is segmented into five parts, with each segment assigned an element, season, atmospheric condition, time and so on… understanding the effects of these 5 elements, and their relation to the 5 main internal organs, the 5 senses, and the 5 tastes, helps us to balance and harmonious ourselves with nature. e.g.

Wood is positioned where the circle begins to move upward and represents growth or spring time, it also a period of windy, and denoted by colour green.
Fire is located where the portion of the circle reaches its peak, symbolizing summer, and the atmosphere turns very hot, and denoted by colour red.
Earth is positioned in the center, where harvesting takes place, and represents Indian summer, which could be muggy & moist, and denoted by colour yellow.
Metal represents turning inward or contraction, & represents autumn, dryness in atmosphere, and denoted by colour steel Gray and
Water is where the circle turns completely inward to regenerate, representing winter or severe cold. Water also portrays preparation for a new spring, wood or growth cycle, and denoted by colour blue.

Dr. Rajnish's Meridian Tai Chi Therapy

Dr. Rajnish's Meridian Tai Chi Therapy

The study of ancient eastern medicine rests on the circulation of Qi,prana, ki, pneuma, mana, energy, etc.The energy flow in certain pathway called the channels/meridians/energetic pathways, etc. These channels are also known as jing-Iuo. Jing means “to move through,” while luo means “a net” (the body’s inner fascia). Along these channels are major trunks and lesser branches that connect internally with the vital organs and externally with the major channels, limbs, sensory organs, and orifices. The smaller branches are known as collaterals, and also there are tiny areas along these channels and collaterals where Qi meet and disperse which are called points.

These points are the spots where the patient’s spirit and energy enter and leave the body. When stimulated, these channel points (sometimes also called”acupuncture points”), cause an energetic response from within the internal organs and channels, resulting in internal Qi flowing from organ to channel, from channel to channel, or from point to point along the same channel.Qi travels throughout the physical body along the channels and collaterals much as water flows through rivers and streams.

As many diseases follow a predictable course of development. The pathology in an internal organ will often manifest itself in certain external or systemic symptoms. Therefore, understanding the circulation of Qi flow, allows the doctor to control each organ’s energetic function. By stimulating specific sites on the body’s surface, diseases in both the superficial tissues and internal organs can be treated. The understanding of the channels and their energetic function and interactions provides the Qigong doctor with the basis for understanding the relationships among the various physiological, pathological, diagnostic, and the rapeutic relationships in Medical Qigong.

Classification of Channels

The channels are classified into four main categories:Jing, Luo, Muscle Tendon, and SkinZones.

1) The Jing Channels are the Primary Channels. These channels include the 8 Extraordinary Vessels, the 12 Primary Channels, and the 12 Divergent/Connecting Channels.
2) The Luo Channels are the Collaterals. These collaterals include the 15 Major Collaterals, the Minute Collaterals, and the Superficial Collaterals.
3) The Muscle/Tendon Channels consist of 12 channels that serve as external connections to the major channels, flowing through the body’s muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
4) The Cutaneous Regions are skin zone areas where the channels surface on the external tissues.

Dr. Rajnish's Dantian Chakra Tai Chi Therapy

Dr. Rajnish's Dantian Chakra Tai Chi Therapy

According to Eastern energetic physiology, humans have three important energy centers, located in the center core of the body that store & collects energy in much the same way as a battery does. These three centers are called the “Three Dantians”. In terms of Medical Qigong Dantian is referred to as a “field of energy” or as “cinnabar field” or “field of elixir”.The Three Dantians, act like an alchemist’s crucible, or cauldrons in the role of gathering and transforming vital substances, energies, and various elements of awareness. The ingredients of the inner elixir are Jing, Qi & Shen. The goal of the inner alchemists is immortality,a complete transformation of Jing, Qi & Shen, since they are the three fundamental energies necessary for human life, and to accomplish this transformation, alchemist’s first gather and transform Jing into Qi in the Lower Dantian. They then gather and transform Qi into Shen in the Middle Dantian. Next, they transform Shen into Wuji (the absolute openness of infinite space) in the Upper Dantian. Finally, they merge Wuji into Dao (divine energy). These transformations can be compared to the changes of water (the consistencies and not the temperature), which when heated, can change from solid ice, to a liquid, and then to vapor.

Tai Chi/Ji Pole:The Three Dantians are connected to each other through the, the Taiji Pole which acts asa passage way for communication between theThree Dantians, and as a highway for the movement of the various life-force energies. The Eternal Soul is drawn into the body at the moment of conception through the Taiji Pole, and departs through it at death. The Taiji Pole of the body is comparable to the central axis of the Earth, North Pole and the South Pole. The North Pole is similar to the center off the head and the South Pole is similar to the perineum. Inside the human body the Taiji Pole acts as the “still point of man”.

A great stillness is experienced when a Qigong practitioner gathers Qi into the Taiji Pole.Extending from the body’s Taiji Pole are the 3 Dantians, 5 Jing-Shen (5 Element Emotion), and the 8 Extraordinary Vessels. These vital energetic systems feed all the major organs and the body’s 12 Primary Channels. As the 3 Dantians absorb energy from the body’s Taiji Pole, they also extend,or “feed,” and energize the body’s Yin and Yang organs, 12 Primary Channels, and 8 Extra ordinary Vessels.

THE TWELVE GATES OF THE CHAKRA SYSTEM: the Three Dantians also connect to the body’s major energy doors, known as the Twelve Gates of the Chakras. These Chakra gates are superficial, on the surface of the skin, and are not as deep as the Chakra Cores and Three Dantians which are all connected to the Taiji Pole. The word Chakra in Sanskrit is called the “wheel or disc” which is the size of a ten rupee coin. Energetically the Chakra gates look like funnels or vortices of Qi. Each funnel extends and expands its energetic vortex out into the body’s Wei Qi field. As energy travels up and down the Taiji Pole it creates an energetic pulse. This energetic pulse resonates out from the body through the Twelve Chakra Gates, and can be felt several feet from the body. The bottom Chakra is located at the perineum and only has one gate, as does the top Chakra located at the top of the head; the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth Chakras have two gates each, one on the front of the body and the other on the back of the body. The Twelve Chakra Gates serve as subtle energy distributors, which help absorb and distribute environmental Qi to the patient’s organs, tissues, and major nerve plexus areas closest to each gate. Each Chakra gate is connected to its own potential of psychic perception, interfaces with the body’s nervous system, and is associated with a different endocring land.

Each opening of a Chakra gate may result in a spontaneous emotional release. Some of these releases can involve painful memories that have been dislodged from the energetic filter (or veil)that envelops the Chakra gates. This energetic filter prevents external emotional traumas from entering into the body’s center core.A Chakra gate can become stuck open, closed,or may also tilt out of alignment with the TaijiPole, causing Qi Deviations that may result in a distortedor obstructed flow of energy. This obstruction may cause physical, as well as psychological, stress or trauma. The release of these emotional traumas can be overwhelming and painful if the patient has not prepared for, or does not understand the nature of, these transitional energetic malfunctions.

Dr. Rajnish's Qi-Gong Tai Chi Therapy

Dr. Rajnish's Qi-Gong Tai Chi Therapy

·         represented three supernatural concepts of Qi-Gong Tai Chi Therapy
Physical (body),
Energetical (breath), and
Spiritual (mind) manifestation.
·         Traditionally, each disciple were skilled in three distinct schools of esoteric training,
Martial,
Medical, and
Spiritual.
·         All three of these important systems required the disciple to continually train in:
Essence (Jing) via Gongli Training,
Energy (Qi) via Qigong Training, and

Spirit/Mind (Shen) via Shengong Training

Wai dan or Wei gong: It is an ancient form of External Endurance Skill training. It works on skin, tissue, muscle, and tendon and bone structure. The focus is getting the mind on the above mentioned area. In Wei gong the Qi is generated from the cell nucleus of the muscle tissue and works on the need, and not from lower Dantian. Muscle fibers need to constantly contract and expand with the help of mind and Qi, or else fatty deposits in the layers of the muscle making it stiffened, and deteriorate. More you use muscle fiber with mind and Qi, through concentration the more strong the fibers it becomes delivering more blood, Qi, nutrition to the muscle fibers, making it stronger and self-reliant. Wai dan or Wei gong or hard style, uses the focus, and mind intent, with Li or power of the muscle tissue to strike a target, similarly to Tiger style. It specifically focuses on training and strengthening the body’s tissues to move and respond as a solid, powerful unit. Weigong Training was traditionally categorized as consisting of basic calisthenics (push-ups, pull-ups, etc.), different forms of weight training, isometric and stance training (i.e., holding deep stances for extended periods of time), as well as aerobic and anaerobic conditioning (including climbing mountains and trees, sprinting, and long distance walking), and massage. Wei Gong trains the muscles, bones, and flesh, and utilizes such techniques as stretching, hitting objects, or using various types of weights. According to ancient teachings, “Without a Wei gong basis, Neigong is primarily useless.”

It is traditionally trained in order to access deeper states of physical, mental, and spiritual powers. Neigong trains the body’s Jing (Essence), Qi (Energy), and Shen (Spirit), and utilizes such techniques as focused intention, active visualization, and both Quiescent and Dynamic Qigong training. Neigong includes specific exercises to train the coordination of various muscle groups in order to act as one unit. It also emphasizes developing the ability to coordinate the breathing with the movements, and the ability to stay relaxed and responsive during a confrontation. The Neigong techniques are called “internal” because they do not involve any obvious external action. Oftentimes, there is an overemphasis on the more esoteric Neigong side of training, but without a Weigong base, the results of the Neigong training becomes inconsistent and weak. In other words, the direct coordination of physical strength means nothing, if you have not developed the strength to coordinate and release the power. Sometimes, part of this imbalance in training comes from an overemphasis on Qigong exercises for the development of power.

Gong Li (Strength/Power skill): A student’s cultivated “Skill of Strength and Power” was measured according to his ability to control the various energy field within his Three Bodies (i.e., the Physical Body, Energy Body, and Spirit Body). These important physical training methods were needed in order to increase endurance, strength, stamina, and power. Traditionally, an individual’s Gongli ability was measured by his capacity to perform, maintain, and endure certain esoteric training techniques (e.g., hold and maintain certain postures for extended period of time, demonstrate certain feats of strength and power, rooting skill, etc.).

Qigong (Energy/Breath Skill): Qigong specifically focuses on training the Body, Breath, and Mind during various forms of breathing practice. The effectiveness of a student’s Qigong is measured according to his ability to activate and control the energy generated from his Three Breaths (i.e., the Physical Breath, Energetic Breath, and Spiritual Breath). This important energy and breath training is needed to increase the student’s cultivation, generation, and projection of energy. This form of alchemical training also focuses on utilizing the breath in order to train the energy and spirit to access subtle spiritual dimensions. The concentration is focused on the development of the student’s imagination, visualization, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, breathing, muscular relaxation, and postural integration. There are nine special internal energetic imbalances that cause the breath and Qi to immediately respond in an unnatural way. These internal energetic imbalances are described as follows:

o    Anger: Lifts the Breath and Energy (Qi)

o    Joy: Slows the Breath and Energy (Qi)

o    Thinking: Binds the Breath and Energy (Qi)

o    Grief: Disperses the Breath and Energy (Qi)

o    Fear: Lowers the Breath and Energy (Qi)

o    Terror: Throws the Breath and Energy (Qi) out of harmony

o    Hardwork/Labor: Wastes the Breath and Qi

o    Cold: Gathers the Breath and Energy (Qi) inward

o    Heat: Scatters the Breath and Energy (Qi) outward

Shen Gong (Spirit Skill): Shen gong training, is a form of Mental Training, that specifically focuses on utilizing the intention of the Heart/Mind and Spirit (i.e., the individual’s focused desire and passion), via the use of special imaginations and visualizations. In this special training, the student’s mind is utilized in order to augment his Neigong and Qigong training methods. A student’s Shen gong is measured according to his ability to activate and control the Three Minds (i.e., the Physical Mind, Energetic Mind, and Spiritual Mind). This important training is needed to increase the cultivation, generation, and projection of thoughts and intentions. This form of alchemical training also focuses on utilizing the mind (thoughts and emotions), in order to train the energy and spirit to access and enter subtle spiritual realms.

Our specialised sports and competitive fitness programme aims at helping professional athletes to dramatically increase their core body strength, as well as to increase the recovery rate of the body from injuries and strain. Sports persons from sports such as cricket, football, hockey, tennis that consistently put the body under repetitive strain can use our training for both prevention as well as post injury recovery. Sports that require greater mental strength and focus like shooting and archery can benefit from the mental training that forms part of the course. Lastly, considering the martial origins of our training system, professional martial arts practitioners will also find our training to be very useful as a form of internal conditioning.

The concept is drawn from the 5 Elements, tattavas, skandas, theory… This theory could be applied for any game, sports or martial arts. As per the theory:

Earth: deals with vastu – object i.e. strengthening, stabilizing and building stamina or endurance for the training.

Water: deals with samjna – intention i.e. building flexibility, fluidity and adaptability for the movement.

Fire: deals with prayoga – act or effort i.e. build power and speed for the movement.

Air or Metal: deals with klesa – mental satisfaction i.e. build clarity of mind, or thought, to execute the action, tactics or strategy without any hindrances.

Space or Wood: deals with nispati – accomplishment i.e. to build any movement effortlessly – without the cumbersome blockage of physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual strain.

Dr. Rajnish's Yin -Yang Tai Chi Therapy

Dr. Rajnish's Yin -Yang Tai Chi Therapy

The principle of Yin and Yang is the foundation of the entire universe. It brings about the development of parenthood; it is the root and source of life and death.
·         Heaven was created by the concentration of Yang, the force of light; earth was created by the concentration of Yin, the forces of darkness.

·         Yang stands for destruction; Yin stands for conservation.
·         Yang brings about disintegration; Yin gives shape to things….
·         The pure and lucid element of light is manifested in the upper orifices and the turbid element of darkness is manifested in the lower orifices.
·         Yang, the element of light, originates in the pores. Yin
, the element of darkness, moves within the five viscera.
·         Water is an embodiment of Yin, as fire is an embodiment of Yang.
Yang creates the air, while Yin creates the senses, which belong to the physical body. When the physical body dies, the spirit is restored to the air, its natural environment. The spirit receives its nourishment through the air, and the body receives its nourishment through the senses.
Human beings are inextricably part of the whole of nature and as such are themselves an expression of the interplay of forces, of Yin and Yang. Our bodies, our breath, the way we work, the way we play, and think all originate from and manifest the interaction of these two forces. Accepting this, the principles of Yin/Yang theory encourage a holistic view of life and suggest it can be lived as a work of art. By understanding the applications of Yin/Yang theory to all aspects of life, a person can achieve the balance so essential to a sense of well being. Life’s activities are never isolated from each other; by contemplating the interaction of Yin/Yang forces within us, we can learn to express ourselves, take care of our bodies, and nourish ourselves in a well-balanced manner.
The ancients observed 2 phases of constant cyclical change. Yin constantly changes into Yang& back into Yin again. This can be seen in the changes of four seasons, and the changes throughout a single day (24 Hour Cycle), as seen below.
